MOSCOW, Russia – “The number of Russian tourists coming to Bulgaria grew by 4.1% in 2013 in comparison with 2012 yet only in January [2014] there was a growth of 15% [in this number. This shows our guests from Russia more and more come to appreciate the variety in climate [conditions], tourist attractions and products the country offers,“ said Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy Branimir Botev speaking at a press conference devoted to Bulgaria in the frames of the Intourmarket (ITM) 2014, an international fair for travel and tourism held in Moscow, the press centre of the Ministry of Economy and Energy announced.

The event was attended by Bulgarian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Boyko Kotsev and head of the Industrial Centre of the Republic of Bulgaria in Moscow, Iliyan Tsonev.

The reported growth in the number of Russian tourists in Bulgaria is explained with the exceptionally good branding of the country as a tourist destination.
